WHAT IS THE 505?
It’s a brand new, high-quality apartment community designed especially with Missouri State University students in mind — in a convenient location just four blocks from campus. The 505 features spacious studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom furnished apartments with high-speed Wi-Fi, modern kitchens, and a full set of community features such as a fitness center, indoor basketball court, swimming pool, coffee shop and more. All just minutes from MSU, with a Bear Line shuttle bus to campus.
WHEN WILL THE 505 BE OPEN?
The 505 will open in August 2021, right in time for the start of the MSU Fall semester. Construction has proceeded on-time with the building complete in June 2021, well in advance of move-in.
IS THE 505 PART OF MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY?
The 505 is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management.
CAN I LIVE WITH FRIENDS, OR CAN YOU MATCH ME WITH ROOMMATES?
You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other residents. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.
WHAT ARE PER-PERSON CONTRACTS?
The 505 offers both per-person and per-apartment contracts. Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at The 505 can elect their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom, under which you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. With an individual contract, even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RATE?
Each resident at The 505 pays a flat rate that includes:
- High-speed Internet
- Electricity ($35/person/month allowance), water/sewer and trash disposal
- Washer and dryer in each apartment
- Community features: swimming pool, fitness center, yoga studio, study lounges, etc.
WHAT SIZE ARE THE APARTMENTS?
The spacious accommodations at The 505 range from studio to 4-bedroom apartments with all single-occupancy bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom.
ARE THE APARTMENTS FURNISHED?
Yes, all apartments at The 505 have a furniture package that includes a full size bed (queen bed in studio), wardrobe, desk and chair in each bedroom, plus a sleeper sofa, coffee table, entertainment stand and flat panel TV in each living room. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our leasing office.
WHEN DO THE CONTRACTS START AND END?
The standard term is August 6, 2021 to July 25, 2022, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Alternate terms may be available; please contact us to inquire. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.
CAN I PAY BY CREDIT CARD?
Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. The 505 also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.
WILL MY STUDENT FINANCIAL AID COVER CHARGES AT THE 505?
Your living costs at The 505 can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at The 505. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.
WHAT KIND OF SAFETY AND SECURITY ARE PROVIDED?
The 505 has fire sprinklers, and electronic locks plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also available 24 7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.
WHAT ARE THE POLICIES ON PETS, SMOKING AND GUESTS?
The 505 is pet-friendly, with limits on number and breed. The community is smoke-free. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
IS THE 505 OPEN TO NON-STUDENTS?
Nearly all the residents at The 505 are students at Missouri State University, with some from Ozarks Technical College and other nearby schools. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, The 505 is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired apartment.
CAN I PARK MY VEHICLE AT THE 505?
The 505 offers optional attached parking garage spaces for an additional charge.
WHAT OTHER TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS WILL I HAVE?
The 505 is just a short walk to the MSU campus. There’s also a Bear Line shuttle stop right next door to the community. The shuttles run 7 days a week during the Fall and Spring semesters: the Gold shuttle runs 7am to 6pm weekdays, the Maroon shuttle runs 6pm to midnight (2am Thursday nights), and the Pink shuttle runs 6pm to 2am Friday and Saturday nights.
